2009 Golf Benfit - Thank you to all who attended.
The 2009 Jimmy Biggs Memorial Cabrini Connections Golf Benefit set a record for the number of golfers (97) and the number for the dinner and silent auction (120). It was a beautiful day and fun was had by all.

We raised more than $38,000 gross and after expenses we'll have about $23,000 for Cabrini Connections, Tutor/Mentor Connection.

Two years ago, before the economy hit, we raised $61,000 and netted almost $45,000 for CC, T/MC. Thus, we still have a long way to go to find the donors, sponsors and golfers to build the revenue needed to keep our programs going in Chicago.

Thus, if you'd like to add a sponsor donation to this year's event, you can still do that, and we would really appreciate your support. If you have a foundation which would accept a grant proposal, or want to talk about any other way you can help provide financial support, please email tutormentor2@earthlink.net or call 312-492-9614 to introduce yourself.

Thank you all for your help.

Cabrini Connections, Tutor/Mentor Connection Fund Raising Opportunities
While the Annual Golf Benefit was in July, the Cabrini Connections, Tutor/Mentor Connection offer different opportunities throughout the year for volunteers and donors to help inner-city kids connect with tutors/mentors.

Visit to make a donation and find other ways to take a role with Cabrini Connections, Tutor/Mentor Connection.

Mapping Strategies
One of the resources made possible by money raised at the annual golf benefit is the Tutor/Mentor Connection's on-line Program Locator database, listing more then 200 different tutoring and/or mentoring locations in the Chicago region.

I encourage you to view the maps at
http://mappingforjustice.blogspot.com and at
http://tutormentor.blogspot.com to see how businesses and faith groups from throughout the Chicago region can work with the Tutor/Mentor Connection to help connect volunteers and youth in volunteer-based tutor/mentor programs.

If you or your company would like to become a sponsor of this strategy, we'd be happy to put your logo on the Program Locator, to show how you are helping volunteers and youth connect in all neighborhoods where you do business, and all places where kids need the help of a program like Cabrini Connections.

Golf web site tops on Google
I encourage you to search for the words "Chicago Golf Benefit" on the http://www.google.com search engine. The Jimmy Biggs Memorial Golf Benefit site came up first in today's (10/4/08) search!

As a sponsor, your link on our sponsor page gets a potential hit every time someone in the Chicago region searches for a golf benefit!

Meet Jimmy Biggs - View Cabrini Videos
Jimmy Biggs was one of the student-founders of the Cabrini Connections video group. For those who attended the 2007 Golf Benefit we showed one of the videos Jimmy helped create to tell others about Cabrini Connections. You can see two of these videos by following these links:

When you view these videos, you can also find additional videos that have been created by our teens and volunteers. Show these to your friends and co-workers and help recruit other volunteers and sponsors to support this work.
